Secure Device Management
Powerful Data Aquistion Platform
Using a small pre-configured industrial PC powered by Ardexa, we offer a fully functioning data acquisition system with full tunnelling capability. We can visit your site and help integrate into the existing local area network. Complex data configuration operations can then be performed remotely using secure access provided by the industrial PC.
Ardexa can facilitate control of plant devices via use of modern PLC software (softPLC) installed on the edge device.
Utilising digital certificates for authentication and encryption, all site data will be securely stored in the customers’ own dedicated cloud. Data can then be visualised for a real-time snapshot or analysed over specific time periods for more in-depth analysis. Secure remote access, network discovery tools and communication utilities are also included.
Secure Tunnelling capability with Ardexa Remote
Using an intuitive and simple desktop app, available for Windows, Mac or Linux, users can securely access sites remotely. Devices come pre-configured, and no further configuration is required. No configuration of the main site router is required, and no ports need opening to allow access to devices on the network. All the user needs is an Ardexa machine located on-site and the app installed on a remote device.
Access can be via two ways, a traditional type of VPN connection, allowing access to all devices over the local area network or a more granular approach where access is only granted to a single device. This port-to-port approach is a more secure way to connect to a device as it does not expose the network to potential cyber issues of the connecting network/device.
Ardexa API (Application Programming Interface)
Ardexa works with all modern and legacy communications protocols and hardware. All makes and models of renewable energy inverters, string combiner boxes, pyranometers, weather stations, and all types of network infrastructure. Using an API (Application Programming Interface) third party software can be given access to the cloud where all data points logged can then be shared and if required, visualised, and analysed on differing platforms. This allows the need for only one data logging device to be fitted on site and data shared with multiple vendors. This makes for a cleaner installation on site and a much more flexible and versatile system.
Network Discovery Tools
Ardexa Secure Device Management also comes pre-loaded with some very useful tools for network diagnostics. These can be used remotely and securely over the internet to pre-trouble shoot on-site device communications issues. Tools include a network discovery scanner, device port scanner, open services port scanner and MODbus diagnostic tools. The below screenshot shows an example of the open services port scanner. This can quickly determine which ports are currently open on the router and accessible from an external connection.
