Network Device Communications
KellyGraham can help with fixed line, satt comms or 4G router installs. We are experienced with all major brands of industrial routers and modems found on solar plants, Teltonika, Draytek, Mikrotik, InHand, Advantech, Zyxel and Tooway satt modems.
With 4G coverage well established across the UK most solar farms can generally be upgraded from satt comms to 4G and with a lot of MVNO providers offering multi network sims, this option gives some redundancy to network outages.
KellyGraham was recently approached from a major operation and maintenance provider wanting to upgrade their portfolio of sites from satellite comms to 4G. Hardware was standardised for ease of maintenance, training, and spares on the shelf. The router manufacturer chosen also had a router management platform which allowed for monitoring and maintenance of the clients on site router installs. Password management, configuration backups, monthly reporting statistics could all be managed from the router web-based portal. Port forwarding rules could also be mitigated and access managed from the router portal, generating tokens to remotely access devices as and when required. As most routers were installed into enclosures mounted within steel storage containers, signal attenuation was compensated for by use of omni directional external antennas. Multi network sims were installed to offer some redundancy in case of network outages/maintenance activities and avoid prior visits to site to carry out 4G surveys to find optimum signal/provider.
